HEALTH TIP FOR TODAY: Skipping

Most times it is  difficult to go to a gym let alone going for jogging. The solution to this is to get a skipping rope, it should not be expensive to get one. Stay at home and skip at least a 100 times (that’s what I do). You can do at intervals of 20 skips or more if you wish and this should not take you up to 5 minutes.

Skipping is a zero-cost workout. The only cost is purchase of skipping rope.

According to the British Rope Skipping Association, 10 minutes of skipping can have the same health benefits as 45 minute jogging.

Skipping will help you protect you against high blood pressure (hypertension). It promotes cardio-vascular activity. Each session leads to better cardio-respiratory improvements, making the heart stronger and allowing it to pump more blood, delivering oxygen and nutrients to your tissues.

The effort it takes to jump rope for 10 minutes is the equivalent of running a mile in eight minutes.

Skipping is very good for weight loss. One hour of rope skipping can help you burn 1,300 calories.

Skipping can help you prevent Arthritis. Since skipping is weight bearing, it boosts a person's bone density, helping to keep off Arthritis.

I recommend you skip every morning once you wake up..... even before you pray(if you do). 2-5 minutes is all it takes. Be consistent. You will notice an improvement in your health within seven days of regular skipping.
