WAR ON CANCER

Something is very wrong here. What is it?

Some 20 years ago, Dr. Linus Pauling, two-time Nobel Prize Winner, gave us a clue as to what is wrong here, as well as why more people are experiencing and dying of cancer then before the war began, when he states:
“Everyone should know the ‘war on cancer’ is largely a fraud.”“Today, the treating of cancer is a huge business! Every 30 seconds another American is diagnosed with cancer, then spends an average of over $25,000 trying to get rid of that cancer, often exhausting their life savings, and what do they get for all their pain, suffering, and money – every 55 seconds, another American dies of cancer.”
If you will do a little research, you will find that almost all of the monies spent thus far on this “War on Cancer” over the past 40 years (just like with most other health issues), has been spent on seeking a drug to cure it, and the paying of salaries to those in the disease care business, rather than seeking the cause of the problem.

Can Diet Make A Difference?

Following is a quote from John Robbins book “Diet for A New America” that powerfully supports what I and Hallelujah Acres believe and have been teaching for many years now.
“The war on cancer is a tragedy. Billions upon billions of dollars are being spent to develop and apply treatments that are invasive, expensive, painful, often mutilating, and in many cases of little benefit.”
“Meanwhile, most of us are unknowingly increasing the probability of cancer with our every meal. The more I’ve learned about diet and cancer, the more stunned I’ve been at our ignorance of their close relationship. We do not have to quake helplessly in the face of cancer, ‘hoping’ to escape its clutches.”
“We do not have to sit by passively, watching our loved ones succumb to this disease. We do not have to spend our life savings, undergoing painful and devastating treatments that do little or no good. We are blessed now with the knowledge, which enables us to make clear, life-giving choices. We need only make them in time.”

5 Best Foods for Preventing or Reversing Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a lifestyle disease. Your food choices can either prevent or promote insulin resistance and resultant diabetes. It is not enough for a food to be low-glycemic; to prevent or reverse diabetes and promote healthy insulin sensitivity and overall health, true anti-diabetes foods must minimize the rise in blood glucose and maximize phytochemical value.
Whether you already have diabetes or are hoping to prevent it, your food choices are the key. Dr. Fuhrman lists his top five foods to help prevent or reverse diabetes.
Whether you already have diabetes or are hoping to prevent it, your food choices are the key. Dr. Fuhrman lists his top five foods to help prevent or reverse diabetes.

This approach works. In a recent study on type 2 diabetics following this diet, we found that 90 percent of participants were able to come off all diabetic medications, and the mean HbA1c after one year was 5.8%, which is in the non-diabetic (normal) range. A diet of vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, and fresh fruit can prevent and even reverse diabetes while promoting long-term health.

Green vegetables: Nutrient-dense green vegetables—leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, and other green vegetables—are the most important foods to focus on for diabetes prevention and reversal. Higher green vegetable consumption is associated with lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and among diabetics, higher green vegetable intake is associated with lower HbA1c levels. A recent meta-analysis found that greater leafy green intake was associated with a 14% decrease in risk of type 2 diabetes. One study reported that each daily serving of leafy greens produces a 9% decrease in risk.

Non-starchy vegetables: Non-green, non-starchy vegetables like mushrooms, onions, garlic, eggplant, peppers, etc. are essential components of a diabetes prevention (or diabetes reversal) diet. These foods have almost nonexistent effects on blood glucose, and are packed with fiber and phytochemicals.

Beans: Beans, lentils, and other legumes are the ideal carbohydrate source. Beans are low in GL due to their moderate protein and abundant fiber and resistant starch, carbohydrates that are not broken down in the small intestine. This reduces the amount of calories that can be absorbed from beans; plus, resistant starch is fermented by bacteria in the colon, forming products that protect against colon cancer. Accordingly, bean and legume consumption is associated with reduced risk of both diabetes and colon cancer

Nuts and seeds: Nuts are low in GL, promote weight loss, and have anti-inflammatory effects that may prevent the development of insulin resistance. The Nurses’ Health Study found a 27% reduced risk of diabetes in nurses who ate five or more servings of nuts per week. Among nurses who already had diabetes, this same quantity reduced the risk of heart disease by 47%.
Fresh fruit: Fruits are rich in fiber and antioxidants, and are a nutrient-dense choice for satisfying sweet cravings. Eating three servings of fresh fruit each day is associated with an 18% decrease in risk of diabetes. For those who are already diabetic, I recommend sticking to low sugar fruits like berries, kiwi, oranges, and melon to minimize glycemic effects.

GINGER- CANCER's NO.1 ENEMY

Ginger: This ancient root induces a process called apoptosis– cancer cells commit suicide and leave the rest of the healthy cells around them unharmed. In essence, the cancer cells eat themselves instead of healthy tissue. Though human trials are planned, the effectiveness against ovarian cancer cells in lab animals has researchers excited to get started. Add to soups and sauces. Also soothing in teas and broths during intensive cancer treatment.
Limiting refined sugars, saturated fats, and red meats from your diet are also excellent ways to boost your immunity, lower the toxicity in your system, and give your body the potent fuel it needs to keep fighting the good fight.

SUGAR FUELS CANCER

The main culprits of deadening sugar include: white sugar and flour, sweetened and processed foods, and fast food. The way these break down in the body (compared to natural sources of fructose from fruit), is that they cause an increase of hormones to be released (specifically insulin), and in effect, signal for Cancer cells to feed and continue to grow in size.
We are consuming more sugar than ever in history and it is only getting worse. The more we eat, the more we want, and our overall health is reflecting our food choices.

FEB 4 IS WORLD CANCER DAY

'We can. I can.' That is the tagline for the 2016 World Cancer Day on 4 February. Marking the 10th anniversary of the global awareness campaign, the aim this year is to prove that every single person can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
World Cancer Day is part of the World Cancer Campaign, adopted following the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium. This summit took place on 4 February 2000, and subsequently the first ever World Cancer Day was pencilled in for 4 February 2006. That tradition has continued every year, and the custom does not stop in 2016.
With this year's 'We can. I can.' campaign, awareness will be raised to show the public that everyone can play a role in battling cancer. For example;
We can.
  • Stop myths that lead to stigma against cancer patients
  • Encourage schools to educate children on how to prevent cancer
  • Demand governments increase funding for cancer treatment facilities
I can.
  • Stop smoking for good
  • Learn about the signs and symptoms linked to cancer
  • Return back to work after cancer treatment, to give it the biggest insult of all
